Mythaka Privacy Policy

Mythaka is published by Ampersand Game Studios. This policy explains what Mythaka stores on your device, what it stores through platform cloud save services, and how you can remove that data.

Data stored on your device

Mythaka stores game progress, saved runs, achievements, unlocks, and recovery copies of your save locally on your device. Settings are stored only on your device and are not included in cloud saves.

Cloud saves

On Android, Mythaka uses Google Play Games Saved Games. Your save is kept in private, app-specific cloud storage associated with the Google Play Games account you are signed in to.

On iPhone and iPad, Mythaka uses Apple's GameKit saved games. Your save is stored in iCloud Drive for the iCloud account signed in on your device. Mythaka does not ask you to sign in to Game Center and does not use a Game Center player identity.

On Steam, Mythaka uses Steam Cloud. Your save is associated with the Steam account currently signed in.

Cloud saves are available only within each platform account. Mythaka does not transfer saves between Google Play Games, iCloud, Steam, or any other platform account. Whether you are signed in and whether cloud saving is available are controlled by your platform settings. When cloud saving is enabled and you are signed in, Mythaka may synchronize your save automatically.

Platform account identifiers

To keep saves for different accounts separate, Mythaka keeps a local record of which account a save belongs to. On Android and Steam, it uses the player identifier provided by the platform. On iPhone and iPad, it instead keeps an opaque iCloud account marker supplied by iOS, paired with a random ID created on your device. This marker stays on your device, is used only to tell whether the signed-in iCloud account has changed, and is not uploaded. Ampersand Game Studios does not operate a server for saves or accounts and does not create Mythaka accounts.

Google Play Games Services

The Android version includes the Google Play Games Services SDK. It starts when the game launches and may sign you in according to your Google Play Games settings. According to Google's data collection disclosure, the SDK automatically collects gamer identity information (such as your gamertag and avatar when a profile is created or updated), and analytics and diagnostics data that Google uses to improve the SDK's stability and its products. Google states that this data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. This collection is performed by Google and is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

Mythaka itself uses only the player identifier returned by Google Play Games. It does not access your friends list or other files in your Google Drive.

Steam

Steam Cloud and your Steam account are provided by Valve and are governed by the Valve Privacy Policy.

Apple iCloud

iCloud and GameKit are provided by Apple and are governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.

Advertising, analytics, and sale of data

Mythaka contains no advertising. Ampersand Game Studios does not add its own analytics or advertising SDK to Mythaka, and does not sell your save data.

Deleting your data

Clearing Mythaka's app storage or browser storage removes the saves stored on that device. On desktop and in a browser, uninstalling may leave save files in place.

Uninstalling Mythaka or turning off cloud saving does not delete copies held by Google Play Games, iCloud, or Steam Cloud. Resetting your progress or starting a new run in the game does not delete platform data, and older recovery copies may remain.

On Android, you can delete Mythaka's game data from your Play Games profile by following Google's instructions. Before you do, clear Mythaka's local data on your devices and turn off syncing so that a device does not upload your save again.

On iPhone and iPad, you can delete Mythaka's app data from your iCloud storage by following Apple's instructions. Apple states that app data such as game progress can be deleted this way even when it is not visible in iCloud Drive. Before you do, turn off iCloud syncing for Mythaka or remove Mythaka from your other devices so that a device does not upload your save again. Mythaka does not provide an in-game option to delete iCloud data.

On Steam, deletion of Steam Cloud data is governed by your Steam account, its data controls, and Steam Support. Mythaka does not provide an in-game option to delete Steam Cloud data.

Retention

Cloud save records are kept until they are removed through the relevant platform's process. Retention of any logs kept by Google, Apple, or Valve is governed by their own policies.

Changes to this policy

If Mythaka's data practices change, this policy will be updated and the effective date above will change.
